Ex-MD NPA Hadiza Bala Usman Seeks More Attention For Health For Rural Women

The former managing director of Nigerian Ports Authority, Dr. Hajiya Bala Usman has call on government at all level to invest more in the health sector and also carry alone the community so as to have a healthy society, Hajiya Bala Usman made the call over the weekend, during a conference organize by the Funtua Consultative Forum with the theme’ One Health Concept launching , and Launching of Funtua Trumpet magazine, the sub theme , one Health and the importance of community engagement in disease outbreak investigation.

Hajiya Bala Usman was represented by the former Katsina state commissioner of land Alhaji Abubakar Sada, also commended the Forum for mobilizing youths for positive development especially at this crucial period of our political journey, she lunched the magazine with sum of 1 million naira.

The citation of the chief launcher as read by the chairman of the forum Dr. Zaharadeen Idris, describe Hajiya Bala Usman the former Managing director of Nigerian Ports Authority, as a technocrat, politician, a philanthropic politician and a woman of great repute and an icon in the community and also a great role model for our modern women in the country.

He said that Hajiya Bala Usman has championed many developmental activities in promoting the well-being of Katsina state one of which was training and empowerment of youth in vocational skills in several local government of the state and training and empowerment of rural women in environmental cleanliness in Daura town and also provision and installation of street lights in Katsina Zone of Malunfashi Kafur, Bakori, Danja and Kankara local governments. She also constructs and renovate several class rooms across the state, he explains that her philanthropic gesture has torched virtually all the senatorial zone of the state.

Funtua Consultative Forum is one of the many registered non-governmental organization in Katsina state with the objectives centered in the development of Education, health economy and capacity building and community development and have over the 13 years of their formation sponsored several public and lectures and seminars in the aforementioned fields.
