Development: Nasarawa Govt Urges Youths To Embrace Education

Hajiya Fati Sabo, the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, has urged youths to embrace education in order to excel in life and contribute their quota towards national development.

Sabo made the call on Tuesday during the launch of a Hausa Movie titled “Dajin Durum” (Unity), produced by the Nasarawa State Artists Council (NASACO) in Nasarawa, Nasarawa Local Government area of the state.

Sabo, who was the guest speaker at the occasion, said that the importance of education to societal development could not be overemphasised, hence the need for her call.

The commissioner commended the association for producing the film, saying that it would go a long way in uniting and promoting peaceful co-existence among the youth and other people.

“I want to call on you to see education as a key to success in life, considering its importance to human and societal development.

“When a person is well-informed, he or she can travel to places beyond his/ her destination. Indeed, no society can achieve any meaningful progress and development without sound education,” she said.

Sabo also urged parents to take advantage of the Gov. Abdullahi Sule-led administration’s free education policy to send their children to school in their own interest and for the overall development of the state.

While assuring the association of her support to enable it succeed, the commissioner further reiterated the state government’s commitment to giving adequate attention to the education sector and other sectors in the interest of development.

In his goodwill message, Alhaji Halilu Bala-Usman, the Osu Ajiri of Afo nation, urged members of the association to adhere strictly to their professional rules and regulations to enable them excel in their chosen career.

Usman, who was represented by the District Head of Usha-Nasarawa, lauded the association for educating the youth on various aspects of life, especially in the promotion of peace and unity through music and movies.

Earlier, Mr Abdullahi Abubakar-Usman, the NASACO Chairman, said that the movie was aimed at promoting peaceful co-existence among the youth.
