Mr Kanzah Daniel, a final year student of the College of Health Technology, Zawan in Plateau, on Wednesday donated sanitary pads to students of two secondary schools.

The schools are Government Secondary Schools in Bakin Kogi and Rimi in Bassa Local Government Area of the state.

Presenting the item, Daniel, a student of the Department of Environmental Health, said the gesture was aimed at promoting menstrual and personal hygiene among young girls.

He also said that the gesture was part of his pet project tagged “Pad a Girl” to emphasise the need for the girl-child to be adequately sensitised on menstrual hygiene.

“I am donating these sanitary pads free as my little way of promoting menstrual and personal hygiene among young girls.

“This is aimed at educating secondary school girls on how to maintain a proper menstrual hygiene.

“If we don’t teach them now, they will grow up without the knowledge and they will become a problem to themselves and the society,” he said.

Daniel called on groups, organisations and spirited individuals to support young girls in promoting menstrual hygiene.
