Bishop Solomon Aremu, Founder, Christ the Light Gospel Church, Ibadan, has called on Nigerians to learn from the coronavirus (COVID-19) experience and seek the face of God.
Aremu said that COVID-19 global pandemic was spiritual, adding that it’s God’s wrath on humanity.
“We have been told in the Bible that when the end time is coming, a lot of strange things will happen. When God wants to show signs of end time, it would be through strange diseases.
“I appeal to Nigerians to seek the face of God by shunning their sinful ways. Our clerics should also preach repentance to people at this period. Only God will stop COVID-19,” he said.
According to the cleric, there are several churches and mosques in the country, but people don’t worship God again.
“Today, we now see a father marrying his daughter. We now see increase in sinful activities such as corruption, cultism, homosexualities and money rituals, to mention a few,” he said.
The cleric said that the current COVID-19 global pandemic was a warning for all to seek repentance and return to God.
He called on political leaders to also learn from the COVID-19 experience by doing the needful in terms of facilities provision for a better nation.
“When Ebola came, our government ran helter skelter. Same thing happened during the outbreak of Lassa Fever. Today again, our leaders are still running to provide facilities for COVID-19.
“I think our leaders should have a rethink and ensure basic facilities are made available for a better prepared nation,” he said.
Aremu warned that the world would experience another five-month disease outbreak after COVID-19, which could only be averted by God.
“This is a trying period that saw to the shut down churches. Our Easter celebration will be in our respective domains in compliance with government directives.
“Wherever we are, we must ensure that our faith in God is strengthened. God says where there are two or three people in His name, He shall be there with us,” he said.
He felicitated with Christians on the Easter celebration, praying that God take control of the current pandemic ravaging the country.
