Chinese law enforcers confiscated more than 132,000 illegal publications for children in the first half of this year, according to official sources on Thursday.
More than six million items of harmful online information containing pornographic, violent, or vulgar contents were deleted during the period, the publications said.
The office promised to step up crackdowns on offences in fields such as short videos, online games, and social networks.
