Ahead of the 2023 general election, Former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (RTD) has been urged to contest for the Bauchi State’s number one position.
The appeal was made by a socio-political group called ‘Neighbor to Neighbor’ after a wider consultation and political calculations.
The group in a statement today at Zaranda Hotel, Bauchi state, jointly signed by its Chairman Mustapha Abdullahi and Secretary, Babangida Ajiya has reiterated that the former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar (Rtd) is the most credible, tested and trusted candidate to occupy the number one seat as the Bauchi State Governor come 2023.
The group made the declaration after days of tour within all Bauchi State Local Government Areas.
The Chairman said: “All plans were set to begin massive mobilisation to canvass support for A.M Sadique’s 2023 gubernatorial ambition. That was the reason why we visited all Local Government Areas within the state.
“The time for the A.M Sadique (rtd) to step forward and lead Bauchi State out of the unbearable economic stagnation is ripe. Irrespective of tribes, religion, and gender Air Marshal Sadique (Rtd) holds a promising future for all indigenes of Bauchi State.
“The Former Chief of Air Staff has proven his capacity to manage a multicultural diversity in an unbiased manner. His track records since his days as the Air Chief speak volume. He was never a greedy person.
“A.M Sadique if given the chance will transform Bauchi State in terms of education, infrastructural developments as well as improving the lives of the less privileged.” He said.
The Organizing secretary of the group, Baba Lante in his remarks made it known that the group is fully prepared to buy the party form for Air Marshal Sadique (Rtd). “We consider it a task on ourselves to shoulder all financial responsibilities for the success of the former Chief of Air Staff. As such we engaged in fasting and repeatedly recited the Holy Qur’an. While on the other hand our Christian brothers and sisters were doing the same in Churches.”
Pastor Isuwa Bulus who is also in attendance at the event, referred to Air Marshal Sadique (Rtd) as a father figure who touches the lives of not just the indigenes of Bauchi State, but all Nigerians. “This is part of the reasons why we are appealing for him to come back home so as to save and serve his people.”
