Bauchi: 10th North East Governors Forum Meeting Held In Bauchi

The North-East Governors Forum is holding it’s 10th meeting in Bauchi with a focus to work out additional measures of improving the economy and security operations in the region.

The meeting is also mapping out strategies of harnessing the enormous natural resources from each of the six affected states.

The coming together of the six Governors of the North-Eastern states is aimed at bringing back the socio-economic atmosphere of those days which were affected by the insurgency.

Chairman of the Northeast Governors Forum and governor of Borno state Babagana Umara Zulum said after the economic issues the governors are also looking at the other common issues of interest affecting the entire region.

The meeting has now go into a close door session after which a communique Will be issued on the resolutions of the forum.

Other Stakeholders including Northeast Development Commission NEDC are expected make contributions on relevant issues that would add value to the governors recommendation towards the overall development of the subregion.

The Six Governors are also expected to accompany the Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima to perform other activities including formal inauguration of 15th Northeast Joint Trade Fair, newly constructed Bauchi State Government House and ground breaking ceremony for the construction of first two flyovers in capital city of Bauchi.
