Kebbi State Government Disburses Compensation For Tsamiya Inland Dry Port And Argungu Old Bye-Pass Road Dualization

The Kebbi State Government, led by Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has paid compensation to individuals whose farmlands and structures have been acquired for the construction of the Tsamiya Inland Dry Port and the dualization of the Argungu Old Bye-Pass Road.

The Compensation breakdown as follows: Tsamiya Inland Dry Port ₦289.542 million was disbursed to compensate for over 200 hectares of land and economic trees in Shaguna, Bagudo Local Government.

Argungu Old Bye-Pass Road Dualization: ₦339.913 million was paid to residents affected by the 6.5-kilometer dualization project.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands and Housing, TPL Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed, announced the compensation payments on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi. He attributed the smooth implementation of the exercise to the community’s full cooperation and thanked Governor Nasir Idris for making the necessary funds available.

Governor Idris is keenly interested in the Tsamiya Inland Dry Port project due to its potential to enhance trade and commerce between Kebbi State and the Republic of Benin, facilitating easier movement of goods and boosting the local economy.

The compensation payments were witnessed by officials from the Ministry of Lands and Housing, local government chairmen, councillors, emirate representatives, and community leaders.

With the timely release of funds, the state government is poised to complete these vital projects promptly, ensuring the continued development of Kebbi State’s infrastructure.
