Kebbi Governor Flags Off N7.2 Billion Argungu Road Project

Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has flagged off the construction of Argungu township roads in Argungu Local Government Area, valued at N7.23 billion. The project, awarded to Amirco Universal Concept LTD, is expected to be completed within 12 months.

The Project Breakdown is as follows: Dualization of Old Bye-Pass N6.83 billion, Relocation of Existing Road Buried Pipes N63.92 million, Compensation for Adjacent Housing Structures N339.91 million.

Commissioner for Works, Hon. Abdullahi Umar Faruk Muslim, praised Governor Idris for employing experienced contractors to ensure judicious use of taxpayer money and quality project execution. Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mere, expressed gratitude to the Governor for fulfilling his campaign promises on road construction to all four Emirates.

Governor Idris stated that his administration has fulfilled 60% of its promises to Argungu residents regarding infrastructure development. He also announced plans to award a contract for the rehabilitation and renovation of Argungu General Hospital, citing its dilapidated state based on accessement report.

This project is part of Governor Idris’ efforts to improve infrastructure across Kebbi State.

Recently, he flagged off the construction of rural roads project at Yauri Highway/Hundeji town in Shanga Local Government Area.
