The Federation of Agricultural Commodity Associations of Nigeria (FACAN), Kebbi State, has commended Governor Nasir Idris for signing a trade agreement with Benin Republic President, Francis Tallon. The pact aims to expand existing trade relations under the African Continental Free Trade Agreement.

The agreement includes establishing a Goods Terminus at Tsamiya, expected to attract significant investments to Kebbi State. FACAN Secretary, Alh Abubakar Bagudu Dallatun Kalgo, noted that this agreement will improve formal trading activities and accelerate economic integration.

The Tsamiya Goods Transit Terminus will reshape trade relations, and FACAN recommends a One-Stop-Shop facility to ease documentation and minimize border delays. Business communities from both countries will benefit from reduced cross-border bottlenecks.

FACAN has pledged to enlighten and mobilize the state’s business community to implement the agreement.

Kebbi State is a vital economic hub, boasting exportable goods and services, and serving as a gateway to West African markets.
