Bandits Abduct District Head, Kill One, Kidnap Scores in Kebbi

A brazen attack by armed bandits on Kanya village in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State has left one person dead, three injured, and eight others abducted, including the district head, Alhaji Isah Daya.

The attack occurred on Saturday midnights . According to reports, the bandits stormed the village, killing Sherrif Alhaji Almu, and injuring three persons who are currently receiving treatment at the hospital. Additionally, eight people, including District Head Alhaji Isah Daya, were abducted.

Kebbi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafui Abubakar, confirmed the attack. He stated that a combined security team, led by the police, has launched a manhunt to rescue the abducted individuals and apprehend the perpetrators.

“The Kebbi State Government has provided the necessary logistics to combat banditry in affected areas, particularly Kebbi South and Zuru Emirate,” SP Abubakar noted.

This incident follows a recent attack by armed bandits in Suru Local Government Area, where the APC Chairman was killed, and one person was abducted in Matseri village, Bunza Local Government Area.
