The Kebbi State Government has introduced a “single demand notice” to eliminate multiple taxation, aiming to boost small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs). Dr. Muhammad Kabir Kamba, Director General of Kebbi Investment Promotion Agency (KIPA), made this announcement at a one day forum session on access to credit for micro, small, and medium-scale entrepreneurs in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

According to Dr. Kamba, KIPA was established to promote investments, encourage economic development, and create a favorable entrepreneurship environment. Governor Nasir Idris has issued an Executive Order for a single demand notice to ease tax payments for SMEs.

Acting Head of Service, Hajiya Aisha Usman emphasized the crucial role SMEs play in driving economic growth, innovation, and job creation. The Kebbi 2024 Budget prioritizes initiatives fostering economic growth, including improved access to credit for micro, small, and medium-scale entrepreneurship.

The forum brought together businessmen, bankers, microfinance institutions, investors, financial organizations, and KIPA technocrats to address challenges faced by SMEs in accessing credit facilities.

This development is expected to stimulate economic growth and support business development in Kebbi State.
